Sewell & Kettle Lawyers FAQ

You ask we answer. Answers to frequently asked questions, sorted by topic

  • Insolvency Advisers

Other than a solicitor who else may assist with your matter or case?

In a commercial litigation matter other professionals that may assist include accountants, industry experts, insolvency practitioners who take appointments as receivers or trustees, barristers who act as advocates or mediators and information technology consultants who assist with analysis of evidence.

Who do we advise and represent?

We act for a variety of people and companies including small to medium sized businesses, entrepreneurs and their professional advisers.

What is the difference between a solicitor and barrister?

Solicitors and barristers are both lawyers but they specialise in different services. A barrister specialises in Court-based advocacy while a solicitor does not specialise in advocacy. A solicitor has a broader and closer role with the client like a treating doctor compared to a surgeon.
