De jure director

A de jure director is one appointed with their knowledge and consent to their position in accordance with the constitution of their company, and the relevant legislation (Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). De jure is Latin for ‘of right’, indicating that the director has been officially sanctioned. This is in contrast to a de facto director, who is not elected to the role but assumes the duties of a director, and is thus held to the same legal standards as a normal, de jure director.
