Instrument

A legal instrument is a formally executed written document creating or recording some legal right, liability or contractual relationship, such as a bill of exchange, a promissory note, deed or will. An original copy of all legal instruments should be kept as evidence of its existence and legal force. For a legal instrument to be binding, it must be able to be authenticated.
